Great knives won't make you a great cook. But they may help good cooks enjoy cooking more. Expense has been a barrier, but this new set helps lower that barrier.
Here are the details of the contents of this set (the number following the / is length in cm):
* 3.5" blade Classic Paring Knife (4066/9) with 4" long handle; 2 oz.
* 4.5" blade Classic Utility Knife (4066/12) with 4" long handle; 2.3 oz.
* 6" blade Classic Cook's Knife (4582/16) with 5" long handle, 5.8 oz.
* Pull-apart Kitchen Shears (5558-1)
* Wood (Maple) Block (7250-7)
Excellent knives, good value in a set of the most frequently used knives. Excellent kitchen counter space saver. I paired it with the Wusthof 1550 Classic 7 Inch Hollow Ground Santoku Knife With Board that comes with an 8"x12" bamboo cutting...Read more

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a wonderful set of knives for those starting a new kitchen, upgrading their kitchen or buying for a second kitchen (boat, RV, cottage). Featuring high quality full-tang knives from their Classic line, this set contains a 6" chef's knife, a 4.5" utility knife, a 3.5" paring knife, a pair of kitchen shears and a compact wood knife block.
Until now, most starter sets were either 2 or 3 piece sets of an 8" chef's knife plus a 3.5" paring knife or a large block of 12 assorted knives. This set happily sits in the middle ground where it provides what is used the most often in a kitchen: prep knives, a chef's knife and a good pair of kitchen shears all compactly stored in a slim block.
I find that I use the 6" chef's knife from this set more than my 8" and if I need to cut something large (such as a watermelon) I go for my 10" chef's knife as the 8" is really too small for big tasks and too big for smaller tasks. Sadly, the wood block included in this set...Read more

My wife and I are not great cooks or chefs, so we assumed that we would never have the need for an expensive knife set. I came across a great deal pointing me to Amazon for this knife set. After reviewing the knifes included, I decide to go ahead and buy it.
I can not believe the difference between this and the previous knifes that we used. All three are amazingly sharp, and the quality is impeccable. I would have never believed that there is such a large difference between this and lower quality sets, but there is. The only small issue I have is that the knife block is really narrow, so it appears to not be as sturdy (read moves about when pulling knifes), but this set is intended to save space, so I will not knock anything off the review for that.
If you look at the individual prices for the knifes included in this set, you will notice that this is a great deal.
