When steak is on the menu, pull out this set of six steak knives from Victorinox (model 88792), each of which features a pointed tip and serrated edge. Because the blades are stamped rather than forged the price is kept reasonable, yet the high-carbon, stainless steel is extremely durable and the ground, tempered edges maintain their razor-sharpness for a considerable length of time. The molded polypropylene handles provide a sure grip, have no grooves or rivets to harbor bacteria, and are dishwasher-safe. All in all, the knives are lightweight, very sharp, and designed to slice through meat with ease.

Summary: Wow these knives are awsome. 2010-09-03
Comment: I just spent $1000 on some very nice Wusthof knives then ran out of money for a good steak knife set so I bought these to hold me over for the mean time. The reviews are what prompted try them. So last night I opened the package picked up the knife and laughed at the quality. For me the knives look and feel cheap, but hey their $30 for 6 knives. I then grabbed a lime and I kid you not it cut the lime like it wasn't even there. I can't speak for any long term use but so far I'm very impressed with my $30 purchase.

Comment: When other reviews said these knives were sharp, they weren't kidding! They're not as heavy as I would have liked, but they are right for the price. I use them as paring knives, as well as steak knives. Did I mention they are SHARP? Please keep them out of the reach of children and knife challenged husbands.

Comment: They are Definitely sharp...but not very expensive feeling...the handles are plastic (I think). they look like those knifes that you get on TV commercials....but feel a bit more sturdy....they work rather well and have not stained or gotten rusty looking. I have owned them now for 3 months and so far so good! They do their job very well.
