This set of three knives from R.H. Forschner by Victorinox makes an excellent gift for the home chef. The 4-inch paring knife adeptly manages most fruit and vegetable peeling, cutting, and garnishing; the 8-inch slicing knife carves the Thanksgiving turkey and other roasts; and the large 10-inch chef's knife tackles a multitude of kitchen chopping, mincing, and slicing tasks. The Fibrox blades are made in Germany and hand-finished in Switzerland. Providing a comfortable grip, the triple-rivet, ergonomic POM (plastic over molded) handles are curved in such a way so as to reduce wrist strain over long periods of use. Summary: Great kitchen knives 2010-02-02
Comment: My son needed some new kitchen knives for his apartment. We did not want to spend a lot since he is still a college student but we did want a decent set of knives because he does enjoy cooking. These knives were perfect. They were reasonably priced and the quality was excellent! They are comfortable in the hand and the knives that come in the set are what a basic cook would need. These are knives that he will be able to have for a long time.

Comment: I received these knives for Christmas. They are wonderfully sharp and easy to use. Consider getting sheaths for them at the time of purchase as they are very sharp and cannot be stored in a drawer (without a sheath) safely. You will love these knives!

Comment: Have used this set once and was pleased with all three knives. The chef knife easily cut through think potatoes and asparagus ends and the pairing knife did not crush my tomato at all. Very pleased for the money!

Comment: I bought this set of knives based on the good reviews. I think the knives are excellent. Just note that the largest piece is 10-inches long, which I didn't realize when I had purchased it. 10-inches is pretty unwieldy for me. 8 is good.
