This board is the largest I can fit in my dishwasher and unlike the rounded shape of the other boards the straight edges are to easier manage especially for drying and storage on edge.
Although thin and lightweight, Epicurean boards are very strong and the material helps your blade last a long time. I am amazed this product survives the dishwasher. It comes out safely sanitized with no warping or discoloration every time. The board surface does develop cuts with useage, but that is what keeps your blade safe.
The slotted liquid capture saves you from juices dripping on the counter top or the floor. But it isn't really designed well to transfer these juices to a gravy. Attempting to pour out any captured liquid into anything smaller than a sink can be a challenge.
I wish this board had the snap on silicone corners to help stabilize it like some other Pinzon boards. you will likely need a bar towel to keep this board from sliding around on most counter...Read more

This is a very nicely crafted cutting board that is both heat and dishwasher resistant. Even if you do not put this board in your dishwasher and with its size (15x20 inches), I am not sure it will fit in all dishwashers, it is extremely easy to wash and wipe clean. It has a very nice smooth finish with a moat around the edges for drippings from roasts, etc.
I was very surprised at how heavy the board is. It is certainly not a lightweight board like many others; therefore, I suspect it will hold up reliably well.
My only really negative comment is that it slides a little too much on my counter top while I am trying to cut vegetables, but so far, I have not had a real problem. Some removable silicone edges would certainly help.
I do quite a bit of baking so being able to reverse the board to a completely flat side for rolling dough is very, very helpful.
All in all, I am pleased with this board and hope to use it for a long time...Read more

I like the beauty of wood cutting boards but they seem to lose their good looks after a short time as they are cleaned, soak up meat juices and get frequent usage so I started looking at alternatives. This board is made by Epicurean and seemed like a good balance of looks, durability and easy sanitary cleaning (it is dishwasher safe). I wanted a larger board for cutting roast and turkey that had a juice slot and I can assure you this board is plenty large for that purpose. It has a nice weight and it is actually heavier then it appears. When I am doing simple cutting the board stays put but if I am rolling out dough it does move slightly. Depending on your counter and your task it could slide around so I suggest throwing a Silplat underneath and it will be rock solid. This board does have some "give" so your knife will make marks in it which is a good thing. You would quickly dull your blade if you use something like glass or stone.
I have had no staining on my board but a note...Read more
