Mundial Future 7-Piece Knife Set with Block

This set include most of what any every day cook needs. However, I'll note that three of five knives are serrated. Great for tomatoes, and such, but if you are looking for a boning knife, it's not included in this set. I chose Mundial because my mother has a beautiful set with the walnut handles, and they are a fantastic set (I think they are part of the Olivier (?) collection).

I like the weight of the knifes and they fit comfortably in my average-sized male hands. However, because the handles are smooth metal and one continuous piece with the blade, you need to be sure your hands are dry, as wet hands can make the knives dangerous to handle from slippage. I've had more than one unfortunate incident from this. I don't recommend letting your kids use these.

I have this knife set. It works very well. It is VERY sharp, so be careful. The bread cutter can and will cut you... don't think it won't! I have a nice deep cut on my finger that left a scar from that bread cutting knife! The scissors are super sharp too, and i haven't had the need to sharpen them at all. I do sharpen the paring knife though since I use it a lot for cutting veggies. It sharpens well. I hand wash all my knives as I do not have a dish washer. Plus a lot of people have said never to put knives in the dish washer.
