I've been preping and cooking for the last 40 years and I was introduce to Mundial Knives approx two years ago. I was elated, they are finely crafted, great balance and holds a sharp edge. The Santoku knife is the favorite! I love its feel and balance and it feels like an extension of my hand when in use, and its just great in the slicing and dicing department! I highly recommend these knives.

I bought this knife to have a santoku after I purchased my Henckels set. If I had to do it over again I would have my whole knife set as Mundial. This santoku is about the only knife I use and I feel it performs better than any of my Henckels. Are there better knives than Mundial out there? Of course there are. Are you going to find a better value with a balance and cutting performance similar (and when it comes to Henckel superior) to many of the better known premium brands? No.

I have 3 knives from this set: the santuko, the serrated, and the paring knife. In the 4 or 5 years that I have had these knives these are the only 3 I have ever needed for any prep work or cooking. The santuko is jack of all trades. It can do just about anything a home cook would ever want to do and can hold its own against any professional grade knives out there.
If there is one thing I can say to tell people how good these knives are it is this. When I am traveling, whether it is across the country to stay with friends or family or across the city for dinner, and I plan to cook I bring my knives with me. In fact, the past few years I went to see a friend from high school and he has a set of Henkel knives. I prefer these. I am sure the Henkels are sharper and have slightly higher grade steel in them. But once you get used to this set you will have a hard time using anything else. The weight and the balance are perfect, at least for me.
In fact for Christmas...Read more
