I've used some of the finest knives made, and this one is right up there with the best, but at a more reasonable price than many. The blade is NOT too thick - don't know what that's about. I am a female with smallish hands and I find it absolutely balanced and easy to work with. And a knife is SUPPOSED to be as sharp as possible - dull knives are the most dangerous! I just love it and use it every day, in fact bought a whole set just based on how pleasing this one is to use, not to mention to look at! BIG RAVES!!

Love this knife. Chose it because I read a positive review on a cooking club web site. The knife is well balanced and makes food prep chores a pleasure. Wish I had it years ago.
