I bought these for my husband for his birthday. He has thrown out all of his other knives he loves these so much. They are well worth the price I paid for them. They are well balanced, easy to use and easy to clean. If you're considering buying knives you'll have forever I suggest doing a little research before committing yourself to one. Try some out at cutlery stores so you have an idea of what type of knife you are interested in. My husband likes the weight and balance of German style knives but others may like the lighter Japanese style. Messermeister is a great company that makes well made affordable knives (and other products) and offers free sharpening for life (if you can live without your knife for long enough to ship it!) Amazon has a great selection of knives for good prices, I would suggest buying from them.
