Product Review

A supplier to the vast majority of cooking academies, Mercer Cutlery offers the Genesis Collection of kitchen knives to provide professional quality to the home chef. Comfortable, durable, and efficient, Genesis knives feature fully forged, single-piece blades made from high-carbon, no-stain German steel. Their taper-grind edges are polished by hand, and their substantial bolsters provide helpful balance. Black nonslip Santoprene handles make Genesis knives comfortable and secure in the grip, improving efficiency and safety in the kitchen.

Great for travel or storage between family feasts, this 4-piece Genesis carving set makes a useful addition to a standard kitchen knife collection. It includes an 8-inch carving knife, a 6-inch carving fork, and a pair of kitchen shears, all stowed in a professional storage roll with a hook and loop closure. The knives in this set are made in Taiwan using European components and technology. They should be washed by hand for best results and carries Mercer's one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Saw picture of this cutlery set from Amazon in WSJ and went to Amazon to order. Price was correct. Excellent instruments. Good value for money. Very pleased. Forgot how the nickname "grain eater" got stuck to my name but when I carved into my Heritage turkey, I realized great turkey eats grain also. Happy Holidays were had all round.
