If you're tired of trying to carve a chicken that's stuck deep in a broil pan or sliding all over a platter, just place it on the specially formed carving side of this unique cutting board. A large well holds a bird in place and a groove runs around the edge to catch any juices that may run. The opposite side is a more traditional shape with a larger groove around the perimeter. Solid as the Vermont Maple it was culled from, this reversible cutting board will hold up for years. But you should occasionally rub in a few drops of linseed oil to protect the wood from excess moisture. --Dana Van Nest

JK Adams makes fine wooden cutting boards. With the proper care, these boards perform well and provide a great cutting surface.However, this board should not be called a "cutting board." Really it is a "carving board." The side shown in the picture has a large groove around the edge. This is great for cutting cooked meat and the like, but it takes away from the cutting area. The reverse side has an imprint for a roast or poultry. Both sides are good for carving meat, but neither provides a nice surface for cutting and chopping.

The carving board I received is JK Adams model number TBS-2014. The model pictured here on Amazon and what I ordered is model TBT-2014. The TBS model does not have juice grooves anywhere near the size of the ones pictured (the TBT model). However, upon checking the JK Adams website, it does not appear that JK Adams makes the TBT model anymore. If groove depth is important, look for JK Adams' Traditional Carver (no model number) or their BBQ-2014.

The one-star is because the product delivered is not what I ordered and took 12 days to arrive. The seller could/should have notified me and offered alternatives or declined to fill the order. I do not appreciate their decision to substitute another product and assume I'll be satisfied. The TBS model is available at Bed, Bath and Beyond for about $8 less than the price here. Also, when one orders from the indicated vendor, they place the order with JK Adams and have it shipped to the buyer. My order arrived with the JK...Read more
