First of all, I purchased these for more than the list price(sadly). It was a great set at first, and we used them a lot. I was probably going to replace them after five years of use. Judging by how much they sell on amazon, this seems a bit ridiculous now. Well, after 2 years of occasional use, I started having problems. I was cutting a very ripe pineapple; so ripe it felt like I was slicing through hot butter. On one slice downward, the knife handle went down, but the knife blade, free from the handle, was airborne like a trapeze artist. Dodging out of the way, I was not injured, just scared of the rest of my knife. These knife are only hooked into the very end of the handle. The three rivets you see do not have anything to do with the blade. At first, you will notice the top of the handle with have an etch in it near the blade. This is the first sign that the knife is going to give out. I would just throw it away at this point, after having gone through this again...Read more
