Okay, to start off with I am a huge Ginsu fan. My family bought a set of Ginsu knives when I was kid and they were handed down to me when I went to college, so I have been using Ginsu knives for about 20 years and they are still sharp (they are serrated, so I can't sharpen them).
I don't use blocks, I just put the knives in the drawer, but this knife block looks decent and it smells kind of piney (last time I bought a knife set with a block it smelled so badly of paint I just threw it away).
When I first opened the box I had to try the paper test and the knives passed. I then looked around for what I could cut up, I found an avocado pit and sliced it into the tiniest slivers, I was delighted because this is something my old knife set could not do.
The handles fit okay in my hands, I don't really like the texture that the handle have, I didn't realize it had a texture when I ordered them. I will upload a close up picture of what they look like...Read more
