I have become fond of Japanese knives lately and wanted to get some steak knives in that style without paying $100.00 a piece so I ordered this Ginsu Koga set. The knives I received didn't have an etched blade but did have the extra detailing on the handle that is not on the Chikara set. Actually my set says "Marquee Series" on one side and is stamped "china" on the other. The name Ginsu is nowhere to be found on the knife. The set did come in the bamboo case shown which is fairly nice. The factory edge is a blunt convex grind which is somewhat sharp. I presume this edge geometry is to help retain the edge for those who don't sharpen their knives. The handle is not a traditional "D" handle but a flattened oval which will work for either right or left handed persons. I'm going to keep this set since I was more interested in the handle detailing than the etched blade. I will put a finer edge on them with my Spyderco Sharpmaker and hopefully have something better than my dull, serrated...Read more
