Cuisinart X-Series Side Tang 18-Piece Set in Cherry Block

Although the "cherry" finish wasnt as near a match as I would have liked with my new cherry cabinets, (mahogany would have been a better call), the set is nonethless attractive. The knives I have used since delivery 3 weeks ago have all made for very efficient and clean cuts. Even Theodore James Bear was appreciative of the fine cutting edges, as the scissors used to trim his fur were like cutting through butter, with no pulling or sawing as with my older set. I hand wash and towel dry immediately after use, so some of the other reviewer's post-dishwasher-corrosion comments don't apply in my case. Probably not a knive set worthy of the gourmet cook's kitchen, but I thought a tremendous bargain and good quality for the cost.

Product arrived in perfect condition. We love the look and feel of these knives. They do their job well, and the set includes more than enough variety for our needs. The dark wood block looks beautiful on our counter.

We were looking for a cost effective but lasting set of knives. We do not put our knives in the dishwasher, we only hand wash to preserve the quality for as long as we can.

Purchased this set 8 months ago. One knife is coming apart so I contact Cuisinart to find out they don't manufacturer them and they do not carry the warranty. Cuisinart Cutlery Line is handled by Lifetime Brands which never answer their phones or reply to email. The bottom line is the warranty is useless. Do yourself a favor and avoid Cuisinart.
